Children, teens and adults who have experienced trauma in their life or struggle with depression, anxiety, PTSD, attachment disorder, or other mental health related condition work with a psychologist to enhance social and emotional wellbeing. Observing horse behaviors and working hands-on with the horses provides a physical opportunity to promote wellness and recovery from trauma. HYH has partnered with Cairns Psychological Services (CPS) to host an on-going program with Hennepin County, supporting this critical work to provide services to teenagers with trauma histories and post-traumatic stress disorder. HYH is also the host site for School District 287 through CPS providing mental health services to help students build critical skills such as: social and emotional learning, communication, cooperation, problem-solving, coping and self-regulation skills.
